What is the function of air cooled chiller?

Commercial and industrial settings use air-cooled chillers and refrigeration systems to cool fluids and/or dehumidify the air. Hotels, business gatherings, restaurants, athletic events, large-scale construction, industrial and manufacturing facilities, and many more places employ them. Useful for both temporary and permanent applications, Reynold India air-cooled chillers are portable and easy to transport. In addition to being portable, lightweight, and efficient, they are also simple to set up and take down. These features make them perfect for supplementary, temporary, or emergencies.

Except for the compressor, water-cooled chillers are often less expensive than their air-cooled counterparts. If you carefully examine the air-cooled chillers’ variable speed control and centrifugal compressors, you may find that they are your best alternative.

Operation of air-cooled chillers

Air-cooled chillers actively remove heat from the water and distribute it into the air to cool it down after it has been processed. This device is best used when high heat discharge is not a concern. The surplus heat may heat a building at a lower cost than conventional techniques throughout the winter.

Evaporation of liquid refrigerant flowing over an evaporator tube bundle provides cooling. When water travels through the bundle, it picks up and dissipates the heat. Now that the refrigerant has been evaporated, it is sucked out of the evaporator by the compressor. The condenser takes in the vapor that the compressor has pushed to it, raising the temperature and pressure of the refrigerant. The condenser tubes transfer heat from the refrigerant to the ambient air or water, a process known as condensation. The high-pressure liquid is lowered in pressure and temperature as it travels through the expansion device and into the evaporator. The refrigerant is circulated over the chilled water coils to reabsorb heat.

Different kinds of air-cooled chillers

  • Stationary air-cooled chillers are used when there isn’t a problem with too much heat.
  • Air-cooled portable chillers: These units can be moved around, but they work just as well as stationary chillers.

How to place air-cooled chillers

Most of the time, air-cooled chillers are put in mechanical equipment rooms or a part of the building close to where they cool. Depending on the size of the chiller and compressor, coolers are sometimes kept right next to the area they are cooling. Sometimes chillers are set up outside.
